Tape-In Hair Extensions
There are numerous benefits of using Tape-Ins which explains why they are in high demand and they are still one of the most commonly used methods. They can be used to create volume, increase length or simply to add colour to natural hair. They are easy to install and a full installation which is typically 100grams should not take longer than an hour. Tape-ins are comfortable as they do not put pressure on the scalp.

Tape-in extensions are installed by attaching two separate tapes to an appropriate section of the client’s natural hair to create a sandwich. There are industry standards around placement, however each individual head differs in size and tapes get placed accordingly. In general, they are evenly dispersed according to natural hair flow to allow weight distribution and easy styling.
Salon maintenance requires the Tape-Ins to be professionally removed using a debonding agent, and then re-bonded and re-installed post a clarifying shampoo. Maintenance is suggested anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks and is 100% dependent on the client’s natural hair growth and how well they follow the aftercare protocols. Regular maintenance is critical to maintain the quality of the hair extensions as well as integrity of natural hair. Outside of salon maintenance, aftercare is important, Luxx supply full aftercare instructions with all hair sold.
We stock 5 lengths and have approximately 15 colours to choose from. As the trends change, we adjust our colours to suit market demands. Our colour range allows almost any colour desired to be created based on a combination (where necessary) and correct placement. We stock 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24” Tape-In Extensions.
Tape-in extensions are perfect for clients who want an instant transformation. They can be used as an alternative to colouring natural hair and are quick and easy to install. Tapes are also super lightweight and comfortable to wear.
Required number of packs?
There are so many dependencies that determine how many packets of hair is needed. We always advise a thorough consultation with the stylist, but a general rule of thumb is that half a head is 2 packets, and a full head is 4 packets.
